Your mum deserves A Friend Support Care

You can't always be there. But that doesn't mean she has to be alone. We match elderly people across the UK with warm, carefully chosen companions who visit regularly, talk, laugh, and genuinely care. So you can breathe a little easier, knowing she has someone in her corners

OUR STORY

Doyin started this company because she knows what loneliness does to a person not from a textbook, but from watching it happen to someone she loved.

Growing up, she watched her grandmother slowly decline after a stroke. The family were busy, as families are. What her grandmother needed most wasn't medical. It was someone to sit with her, talk with her, and make her feel like she still mattered to the world around her. That didn't happen. And eventually, they lost her.

Years later, working as a support worker in care homes and domiciliary settings across the UK, Doyin kept meeting the same quiet grief in different faces. Elderly people who would say "I'm fine" the moment you walked in. And they believed it, mostly. But if you stayed a little longer, if you asked one more question, something would shift. The joy that came from simple, unhurried conversation was visible and real. The problem was, there was always somewhere else to be. Personal care to finish, lunch to deliver, the next visit to get to. There was never enough time to simply be there.

That gap, the space between personal care and genuine human connection, is exactly what this company was built to fill. Not medical support. Not a checklist. Just time and presence. Someone who actually wants to hear your stories and sit with you a while. A friendly face that comes not because it is on a schedule but because your mum is worth showing up for.

We built this service because we believe that getting older should not mean getting lonelier. Every person we work with has lived a full life. They have things to say, things to share, and an enormous capacity to enjoy another person's company. They just need someone to show up. That is what we do. Quietly and consistently, we show up.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

We match on personality, not just availability. We don't find the nearest available person and send them over. We take time to learn about your loved one — what they enjoy, how they like to talk, what makes them light up. Then we find a companion who genuinely fits. Because a connection only works when it is real.

Every companion is DBS checked and fully vetted. Your parent's safety is non-negotiable. Every one of our companions goes through a full Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, a thorough interview, and training before they ever set foot through your loved one's door. You will never have to wonder who is in the house.

You will always know how things are going. We communicate with families regularly so you are never left guessing. Whether it is a quick update after a visit or letting you know something felt a little off this week, we keep you in the loop. You may not be able to be there in person, but you will never feel out of the picture.

No contracts. No pressure. No lock-in. We know that circumstances change. That is why there are no long-term contracts, no cancellation fees, and no pressure to commit. You can start, pause, or stop the service at any time. We want you to stay because it is working, not because you are tied in.
